Klehini Day Packraft

Two people on their Kayaks on riverbank

The day begins with a 45 minute van ride along the meandering Chilkat River, past the confluences with the Kicking Horse and Tsirku Rivers.  We skirt the village of  Klukwan, a Tlinjkit settlement  located on the same ground for thousands of years, eventually reaching the mouth of Porcupine Creek and the start of our paddle on the Klehini River.

We can choose to paddle the upper section of the Klehini for a half day adventure or all the way to 20 Mile on the Haines Highway for a full day adventure.  Either way we will let the current take us through unbridled wilderness as we float down the Klehini.  Along the way we may see some of the plentiful wildlife that live along the banks such as brown or black bear, wolves, coyotes or moose grazing on alder along side the river.  Surely we will see bald eagles, plentiful throughout the valley.
